I have been at Varsity for 2 years. I chose to stay an extra year because I have had the best experience with varsity. They have great facilities, staff, maintenance team and chocolate cookies every morning which is a huge plus haha.
The location is fantastic and amenities are good. Love that there is nighttime security. Just wish maintenance requests were handled (or even acknowledged) a bit faster, and warning was given about when exactly they would come.
The varsity is a great place to live. The location is unbeatable, and there are a pretty good selection of amenities. It seems like the printer in the computer lab is always out of ink though.
Sometimes the community areas are very messy and smelly, which is unfortunate because of how much we all pay to live here. For instance, the hallway carpets have tons of stains and the lighting is quite dark, and the computer lab typically is littered with food and smells. Also, sometime the community assistants (the students who live here) are quite rude to residents.
The apartment and location are fine, but is entirely overpriced for what it is. I am moving to a place where I get all of the same amenities for a third of the price. That combined with the lackluster staff that always seem displeased to have any human interaction with their residents make the decision to move an easy one.

Varsity is great. Easily the best place I've lived in, in my undergraduate experience. There are always fresh baked chocolate chip cookies in the morning and the front desk people are always super friendly.
I really like living at varsity. The amenities are great, the rooms are spacious enough, and the facility is usually kept clean and neat. I also love the coffee and cookies provided in the morning at the front desk. I wish the apartments were cheaper, but I understand that the location plays a big factor in the price. It is close to bus routes and overall a great place to live!
Very nice, very comfortable. I love the gym, the study room and the yoga room on the second floor. Best Apartment here in Ann Arbor. Strongly recommended!
The varsity is a nice and welcoming living environment with an excellent location and a broad range of amenities. It's only about a 5 minute walk to central camps.
Living here has been smooth sailing since August. The facilities are beautiful, great incentives and accessible maintenance. Would absolutely be renewing if I were not moving for grad school
Hall is very neat and tidy, sometimes when i request a repair, the repair comes pretty late (i.e. after a few days), this needs to be improved.

I would not live here again. It is a nice place to stay for a little while. But the maintenance doesn't happen in a timely manner, and the people are incredibly rude.
I reallyy like the free coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cookies we have every morning. However, i wish they could be provided earlier as I have classes at 8:30 and would love to be able to grab coffee earlier than 9am
Varsity is a great place to live in Ann Arbor, especially if you're a student! While its a walk from central campus, its a great location by State Street and has the best gym facility! Could improve their wifi connection though.
Management is a little mean at times, but apartment is nice. Toilet clogs a lot which isn't good sometimes it overflows. Other than that, it is fine.
i like living in varsity very much, the corridors are very clean and the vibe is good for studying. However, there are always no ink and paper for the printer, which needs to be solved.
I love the varsity, the staff here is great my 2 years of living here has been great. I love the cookies in the morning and how convient it is to get to class !
My apartment community is amazing! There are always fresh baked cookies and cool events going on, the people at the front desk are also super friendly which is great after coming home from a long day of work and classes.
its really nice and i like all the amenities but i dont like that the bedrooms in my four bed two bath are so different in size when we all pay the same rent. also there isnt enough cabinet space in the kitchen.
The amenities of the apartment are amazing for the price you pay! The best part is my own bathroom as well as the washer and dryer in the room.
My living experience here has been so wonderful. Everything I need in a living situation; gym, coffee, tanning, printing. The list goes on A wonderful experience
I've had a great time at varsity this year. The amenities are great and the rooms are very big and spacious. The oinly convern that I have is the lack of socialness but
So far I have had a great experience at Varsity, my only concern is that the parking spots are very difficult to get in and out of with an SUV.
This is my first year living at Varsity Ann Arbor, and it has been excellent thus far. The apartments are very nice, the maintainence is quick, and the location of the building couldn't be better.
I love it here! The gym is hands down the best part of living here. The walk is a little far from the South U area but it's definitely worth it.
I dont really notice any community within the apartment buildings but every one seems very polite and there isnt too much noise or anything. I would say people treat the facility with respect.
I have no complaints other than that occasionally the paper and ink in the printer run out and it’s only able to be refilled during office hours. Also the batteries in the keyboard are always needing replaced. I love my room though and especially the free massages.
The people around me are great! Some friendlier than others but all around we have a great sense of community. Most of us are students so it is nice being able to find others in your classes to study with.
The experience is great and I really like living here. Varisty is so close to the central campus. It is only a few minuties walk. And it is close to all the restaurants and shops.
I love the Varsity. The building and facilities are new and updated and always clean. The complimentary cookies and coffee are always a bonus. I would recommend living here to anyone and everyone. I love that there is gym and ability to print for free.
Awesome place awesome people awesome commodities awesome gym great social activities free Starbucks free cookies massages and even more. What else is there?
The room has been fantastic so far. The maintenance has been a little slow and has been a bit of an issue. However, my experience has been positive so far overall.
I love living here! It's an awesome place to live! Environment is great and so are the commodities. Apartments are fully furnished and are kept up to date.
Great community within the apartment, staff, CA's and the janitorial service is always super nice and friendly. Maintenance is pretty slow in responding to maintenance request all the time.
Great location, nice room, and overall good experience. I just wish that maintenance requests were handled a bit more promptly and that the walls were a bit more soundproofed.
Varsity is located very centrally, which is convenient for traveling to the University of Michigan, shops and amenities. The apartments could be better maintained but overal quality of the accommodation is good.
Management is good and responds to emails in a timely manner. People at front desk are always nice. Sometimes it can be a bit noisy but usually quiet.
It has been great so far. I really enjoy the community and the amenities. My only issue has been the strict late payment policy. There was a confusion on when I had to submit my second payment and was threatened with a court procedure.
It's a great apartment with excellent furniture, and settings. You have your own bathroom, they provides every furniture you need in your room. And they have study room, tan room, yoga room and excercise room.
However, the management is poor, they are not helpful and sometimes rude. I think it has been improved a bit this year tho.
- windows open
- indoor bike storage
- sky lounge (please keep it open for longer at night)
- doesn't feel crowded
- Even with windows close, the sound of garbage trucks wakes me up at night sometimes
- Similarly priced apartments are usually a little bit bigger.
I really like everything about it from the rooms to everything the building offers, like the sky lounge or the study rooms and printers. However the rooms are quite dark so I had to buy a few floor lamps..
Varsity is a great place to live. It has a great staff and friendly livening environment. I would definitely consider living here again. It’s amaizng!
Everything at Varsity has been excellent! The living arrangements are clean and esthetically pleasing, the gym is excellent, and the overall community is very safe.
the apartment is nice and i feel very safe, I think maintenance takes awhile to get back with you but overall I have enjoyed my experience here
Noise can be an issue because the walls are very thin but other than that everything is very nice and the amenities such as gym and roof top are so nice
I am very happy with my living space. The rooms are spacious and the furniture is high quality. However, the management could be improved. There is always a problem with printing (no paper, ink, etc) and trash gets backed up, causing hallways to stink.
Varsity is a nice building and is in a great location but there are small annoyances. Not enough elevators, insufficient lighting, no fan in the bathroom, trash rooms often dirty, etc. These things can add up quickly to diminish a resident's experience.
The apartment was clean when I moved in and my view is great. It's nice that it came furnished and I like the size of my bedroom and bathroom. The location is also wonderful.
I believe varsity ann arbor is currently doing very well in terms of managing and catering renters' needs. Specifically, i am impressed by how quickly the staff will respond to customers' emails.
I love The Varsity. The community is well maintained and beautiful. My experience here has been awesome so far and is looking forward to next year !
It's a good community, I guess. I've gotten a couple noise complaints but I'm pretty sure it's just because the guy who lives next to me is a whiner.
An excellent place to live. The location is unbeatable and I enjoy being so close to downtown. I also appreciate how quickly maintenance responds to issues.
The gym facility is beyond amazing, and the staffs are amazing.
Wifi and other amenities are one of the best in AA area. Btw, the location of the place is amazing.
The living arrangements are nice. The maintenance crew is fast and reliable. However the skylounge should be open past 8pm, especially when no one reserves it.
Great complex, lots of amenities, overall satisfied. My only complaints are that sometimes it's a little dirty in the common areas and there is rarely paper in the printer.
Varsity is a great building with fantastic amenities and maintenance. However, the best experience I've had here is with the management. Chris in particular is so welcoming and helpful!
Great apartment, awesome facilities and decent service. My only complain is that WiFi speed can be inconsistent especially during nighttime.
Varsity is one of the best apartments here in Ann Arbor. Its location is great, 5 minutes walk to Central Campus and a bus stop that takes you to North Campus. Morning cookies are a life saver.
The location is great and the cleanliness of the structure is good overall. Customer service could be improved. The printing service needs to be improved.
I enjoy living in varsity. I'm going to live here next year as well. I just wish we had a pool in our apartment, but besides that I'm pretty much happy with my experience.
Varsity is a very nice environment. I love my house and the amenities that are included. #1 apartment. It is in a very convenient location > GOVARSITY
Fantastic, Love this building! There of course were a few minor problems at the beginning of the year, but these were quickly fixed by the building staff!
I love living here. Of course there are some drawbacks including the computer room never having paper or ink in the printer. Other than that though it's great.
Staff is always professional and friendly. The Varsity is truly a great place to live and I definitely feel that I have made the right choice living here.
best place to live in AA. amazing rooms, great workout facility with cardio and weights and machines and kettlebells, good computer lab with printer
Great apartment, with great fitness center and facilities. The rooms are in good conditions. The internet could be a little better (especially during nighttime)
Varsity is an amazing place to live in!
Staff members are extremely helpful and friendly -- they are ready to help anytime! Maintenance is also very quick.
All amenities are great; Varsity is honestly just great.
Varsity is great, location is good and is already furnitured, which is very convenient. Staff is helpful and residents are clean and polite. I'm enjoying my stay so far and hope to keep with Varsity next year.
I really enjoy all of the Halloween decorations. I love the effort to make residents feel at home. The friendliness of the staff downstairs makes it easy to make rent payments and ask questions. The reminders in the elevator are helpful for spreading awareness of events/ reminding us of when to pay rent. All of my friends that visit me here at Varsity comment on the luxurious appeal of the lobby and gym area. The cleanliness/ clean lines of the design is always appreciated as well. Thank you!
I appreciate how personable and helpful the community assistants are. Every time I have any type of slight problem, I know I can go down or call down and get immediate, beneficial help.
I enjoy living here so far. The rooms are very spacious and nice, the gym is well-equipped, the coffee machine is pretty dope too. I hope it continues to be good!
Living at Varsity has been great so far. My favorite part is the washer and dryer in the apartment. It makes life so much easier! Also love having a private bathroom.
Honestly, varsity is such a good place to live in. I will live here again next year, possibly studio or one bedroom. All are extremely friendly - love the people at the desk!
Living at the Varsty Apartments in Ann Arbor is like living at a hotel! The rooms are luxurious from the countertops to the furniture and even the bathrooms! I would highly recommend these apartments to anyone.
I absolutely love my apartment! There have been some issues with the trash room, but once I received the email from staff letting me know that it was being handled that immediately put my mind at ease. I'm still confused about a few things, such as the hours that I need to use my key fob to enter the building, who to call if I'm locked out, how I get certain packages, but I'm slowly learning.
Varsity is home! From
a great front staff to the community assistants, the very complete gym are and the mindblowing rooftop, Varsity is the place to live!
My experience at Varsity Ann Arbor has been very good overall. Nice apartments, great amenities, and very modern. There are a few drawbacks. The day i moved in my apartment was not clean there was some damage to the walls of my bedroom and bathroom. MOST of it has been fixed which is good but not all of it. The printer in the study room is truly a piece of garbage. More than half of the time I need it it does not work.
Aside from those issues, varsity is very nice. The business center is a great place to study, the internet is very fast, and the apartments are very nice and cozy.
The staff are friendly and very helpful! The building is always clean and the rooms and units are nice as well. I enjoy having the coffee machine and all of the events that are put on for the residents.
I love living here, it was a great decision. Recently, noise on my floor has increased into late hours of weeknights which is what dropped my rating from a 5 to a 4, but otherwise I'm very happy!
Overall I love Varsity. It's quiet, modern and clean. The staff is always friendly. The cookies and coffee are great. The elevators are the only annoying part.
Varsity is a great place to live. The bathrooms are very nice, the beds are big, and having your own washer and dryer saves a lot of time and money.
You guys are doing great so far. The construction with the elevators was annoying but some things are unavailable. I like how quick you respond to maintenance requests.
modern building but the lounge now locks and the printer never works. The gym is nice and clean. The walls are thin so you can hear parties. Have new safety features.
Varsity has been such an awesome living experience for me. The quality of the units are great. I love my view of the big house and it is in such a good location
I really love the location and all the amenities (fitness center, computer lab, rooftop terrace). However, the rent is quite expensive for the condition of the apartment. Overall, I am happy with it
I have really enjoyed my time here at Varsity Ann Arbor! The location is my favorite part because it is right in the middle of the city. I also love that the apartments come extremely well-furnished.
Varsity is a great apartment to live in for students as well as any other. I encourage you to consider Varsity Housing as an option for your next housing.
I have lived here for the last year and half and I have enjoyed my experience at the Varsity. I think the staff members are very nice and attentive and I enjoy the free coffee each morning
Good: Fully furnished, modern apartment, located right next to campus, in walking distance from almost anything that you need. Also includes Gym, and a Business Center with free printing. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Bad: Water pressure in shower is irregular, only a very small portion of the window at bedroom can be opened, kitchen is tiny for four people apartment (had to buy additional pantry).
I like here because I like fully furnished apartment so that I don't need to worry about the problem. Also, with laundry room in the apartment and wifi ready is a great energy saving. However, I have to say hope the work order service could be more efficient.
The maintenance team is not the best, they are very slow and put some things off that should be fixed so that we do not get charged for what is wrong. For example there is damage on our wall from the movers that need to be repaired because they were done by the movers. Also our refrigerator was broken with all of our food in it and they were very slow and did not contact us so all our food went bad.
I think that Varsity is doing a very nice job. The people who work here are nice and attentive. The conditions are nice. The maitenance crew is very quick.
We were promised to have an Apple TV but the lady who helped us sign the lease forgot to write it down on the lease but she promised that out apartment would have one. However, the office told us that without the evidence, we could not get the Apple TV. And it was not our fault to "forget" to put the words on the lease. We thought we got tricked.
You are doing pretty good... I wish I could have pets... Parking lot off Huron is amazing; I really enjoy having that, but I wish the Sky Lounge did NOT have to be reserved now... that was a main factor of me living here and I now I feel like its gone. Also, balconies would have been DOPE.
So far, almost everything has been fantastic. I love the building, the amenities, the activities, and the location. The reason I gave 4 stars is the difficulty with printing here. The printer is often out of paper, and the remote printing has never worked for me.
This place is a fantastic place to live. The location is fantastic and the staff are friendly. Everyone makes this place amazing and wonderful. I'm so glad I made this option.
The person who parks next to me has been less than courteous, but the staff has been helpful in trying to resolve the issue. The building quality is very nice, and I appreciate that everything is all inclusive.
Beautiful apartment, although email responses were slow over the summer and the website is terrible - although we pay our bill every month, it never says we owe money. Also rent is very high
The environment here is superb - big fitness center, gorgeous business center and rooftop lounge! The room is fully furnished and clean. You can never find this kind of apartment elsewhere!
I appreciate all you guys are doing to keep this facility clean and comfortable to live in. I enjoy the morning coffee that you guys provide each morning and it is always good to participate in the events that you guys have regularly each week.
Overall is good. Fast and good maintenance service, convenient gym room and study room. The only thing that can improve is to provide more lamp in the room, because I think it is a bit too dim for study.
My experience at Varsity has been pretty great. The building has a fabulous location and a ton of great amenities. The apartment is brand new but it was a little dirty when we moved in and some things were broken. Other than that it's been great.
My experience at varsity has been amazing. I renewed my lease for next year. The staff is so friendly and the free stuff is great! I love my apartment so much.
I love everything about Varsity, from the fresh cookies, to the monthly events, and the beautiful community facilities. My only suggestion is that maybe there could be a way for residents to buzz in guests at the front door from their apartments after office hours.
My apartment is great, but I feel that the management can be lacking. I had emailed to reserve the sky lounge and had no contact for over a week. I had to send a second email and was told that there was another event going on. Had I known a week earlier, when I sent the first email, I could have rescheduled my event. On such late notice, we had to cancel the event because there was nowhere to host it.
Everything is great, but the printers rarely work. Something is either wrong with the ink or there's no paper. I love that there's coffee in the mornings and the staff are all really great!
The rooms and Sky Lounge are really nice, and everything is kept very neat and clean. The gym is also really nice. There are noise issues, though, and maintenance requests thus far haven't been handled well.
The staff is friendly and helpful and the community is clean! The location is great by being close to everywhere. What you get for the rent is a great deal :)
Everything has need great so far. My one suggestion or request is that you bring out the coffee earlier in the morning. I have many classes that start at 10am, so when it's always a bummer that there's ni coffee when j leave at 9:30.
Although the elevator rides are sometimes awkward, I love this place. The facilities are awesome and I love the free coffee in the mornings.
My cable still doesn't work- but otherwise great! This has been an icredible update from the dorms. I love the the location compared to campus.
I LOVE Varsity! The only complaint I have is the printing. The "free" printing literally NEVER works. Like ever. It's really annoying especially when I depend on it to print out homework assignments before my 8ams.
I have lived here for a bit over a month now. The apartment itself is extremely nice, with everything in quite good condition. I have needed maintenance once, and it took a bit long to be resolved. Overall, I am satisfied with my experience thus far.
the window is too small. we are allowed to pick the package only office time is not good way
after the update, the internet is sooo good. location sooo good.
I don't move in until the fall, but so far you all have been doing great! You have kept me updated on my housing information and reminded me about payments! I can't wait to live here!
Always have had problems with parking pass. Weight room is rarely cleaned as dictated by the smell. Unfortunate marketing detracts from the luxury environment that the Varsity actually provides. EDR needs to keep in mind this is not one of its typical 'college dorm' buildings nor is it a building where ppl pay only $300-500 / month. Each resident pays some $1000+ / month and at the very least should be treated like clientele not like random students. Experiences with the head manager lady from EDR have been nothing but the exact opposite of what clients should be treated like. No attempt to cater to the residents needs. A/c was broken in the gym for a few weeks and she said,"oh we didn't know, you're supposed to tell us." Another time there were some issues with the security staff one evening and instead of listening she immediately just kept saying , " I think we're going to have to agree to disagree." Never once has communication with her felt respectful. More like just a series of brush offs and passing of blame. It is a direct result of management and the way residents are treated unlike the high paying clientele they are that has prompted my friends and me to choose another place to live next year.
I wish I read the reviews before I went in. My friend had suggested this place to me, and I thought making an appointment on a Sunday would be fine.
I arrived about 2 minutes late, but it didn't matter because my appointment ended up starting 45 minutes later. I could have seen three places on my own in that time. There were walk ins who were seen before me, which was a pretty bad start. The appointment ended up taking more than 3 hours.
Apparently they can't talk about safety, which I guess makes sense, but not helpful for those not from the city. I also wrongly assumed that properties would already be pulled up according to whatever specifications I gave.
Most places I saw were either over my budget or incredibly far from where I'd be working. There were many places I was interested in that apparently weren't open or available for viewing on Sunday. We spent about two hours looking through their properties and then went to 3 or 4 of them.
Overall, Craigslist and padmapper were much much more helpful for me. I saw an ad the next day within my budget and in the area I wanted to be on Craigslist, posted by apartment people and I was infuriated. If I didn't have such a meh experience, I would have called them right away to talk about it.
If you are making an appointment with them, do your research beforehand. Otherwise, you'll just waste more time.
Great amenities (gym, rooftop, study rooms, computer lab, sky lounge, in-apartment washer and dryers, granite counter tops, lobby area, etc).
Varsity Ann Arbor offers fully-furnished units. The complex is only a 6-7 minute bike ride from class for me, and is pretty convenient all around.
Meh. Decent so far, but the building still feels very new. There's clearly some finishing touches that need to be applied. ...ahem...inteecom?
Awesome Place to Live! The leasing office is very helpful in helping me with maintenance request and other needs. The sky lounge is a good place to hang out with your friends!
Love it! You guys do a great job! I have loved living here, all of the people are so nice, not to mention the free warm cookies and hot coffee in the mornings!
I have been pretty happy with Varsity. very classy and great people. the package system is the only thing that has been a little confusing but can't complain overall
Since the management changes I have been very happy with the varsity. I wish the elevators would stop breaking, but everything else has been superb. I would definitely reccomend it to a friend
